Lauren Brown is a filmmaker and film lover. She graduated from Columbia University and started her career as a producer at Turner Classic Movies & FilmStruck. Lauren then became an indispensable member of The Black List team as the company expanded from writing workshops into film production; she also created video elements for pitches at Amazon, Universal, and Blumhouse while working at Topple. Lauren has written, produced, and edited short-form content on a wide array of film topics, from classic Bollywood dance forms to immigrant narratives on film, to Janet Jackson’s love for Dorothy Dandridge. Lauren’s short film, A Wake, screened at the 2020 San Diego Black Film Festival, Women in Horror Film Festival, and Screamfest Horror Film Festival. Movies are Lauren’s first and greatest love, and the goal of all of her work is to convince audiences of the power of cinema. Lauren currently lives in Atlanta, where she and her dog, Ginger, spend their time writing and reading tarot cards.
