Dr. Jylana L. Sheats is an applied behavioral scientist, educator, and public health practitioner. She leads and advises on research, programs, and initiatives aimed at behavior change, improving health outcomes, and addressing complex societal issues, while also nurturing the next generation of leaders in science, public health, and healthcare. Recognized for her exceptional contributions, Jylana was honored with the Tony A. Mobley International Distinguished Alumni award from Indiana University-Bloomington School of Public Health. She is also a recipient of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) ‘Building Innovative Research Careers in Women’s Health’ award. Her academic achievements include degrees from Spelman College, Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, and Indiana University-Bloomington, with postdoctoral training at Stanford School of Medicine, where she is an External Advisory Board Member of the Research Fellowship Program in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. Jylana enjoys spending time with family and traveling internationally.
