Beth Karlin, PhD

Founder and CEO

Dr. Beth Karlin is a psychologist and social change strategist with a passion for applying behavioral science insights in education, sustainability, media, and health. Before starting See Change, she spent a decade working in K-12 education, holding positions as a teacher, counselor, and school administrator and also served as Research Director at the USC Norman Lear Center and founding Director of the Transformational Media Lab at UC Irvine, where she received her Ph.D. in Social Ecology with an emphasis in Design-Behavior Research. Beth has published her work in venues ranging from Psychological Bulletin to Peace Studies and is a sought after speaker on Storytelling, Smart Technology, and the Social Science of Sustainability (and yes she loves alliteration). She has a complete inability to remember people’s names at conferences but somehow still knows the lyrics to most 90s hip hop songs.
